hello guys,

i just put in the upgrade tweeters. install was a snap until i was all done and the right speaker had no sound coming from them. it was at that point i was asking myself why i did this in the first place, the 2,000's sounded good to me. thinking it might be one of the new ones i changed out one at a time with an old one to see if that solved it. no--it diddent#%@#$%^&. ok,im all calm now again. then i put back in all the 2,000's and still no sound, what the hell!!!. they worked yesterday??. then i decided it was time to check the amp rca's. a quick switch over and i had sound!!. back in the new tweeters and all is fine. rca's needed a better connection. well after 1 hour, they sound fine to me. yes,i know wait about 50 hours or so but after the wife goes to work later up the volumn goes and i will enjoy right away. the hell with the 50 hours break in time. will give my sound impressions in about a week or two but i cannot imagine they will bad. tom t

The SL2000 & SL3000 tweeter stink. The RD replacement series is rock solid.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    Very nice setup.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben

Hi, I am getting ready to order the 6503 and 6511 drivers for my massive polk SDA SRS's. Will order from Polk. I am also going to order 8 of the tweeters from Polk. What are these silk tweeters everyone is talking about, does polk sell these as replacements?

What about a crossover box, Polk doesn't sell it anymore?

    Thanks

you can replace the caps and resistors on the crossover,,use the search function,as there have been many who have "gone there" before you,If you are hesitant to diy, I'm sure that someone will offer you help/assistence,, have fun,,get your learn on before you upgrade,,if you choose to diy---good luck,,and welcome to the club:)
