I just picked these up to try out. I have them hooked up to a Denon AVR985. I know they need more power, but I was just seeing how they sounded. I think they are staying right where they are! These sound incredible. The easiest way for me to describe them is: effortless. The ES panels sounds so warm and unfatiguing that I can't stop listening to them. It isn't fair to compare them to my 1.2TL's because they are a totally different speaker, but I am in love with them. The imaging is perfect with a relatively narrow sound stage, especially compared with the 1.2's.

Most speakers that I have listened to over an extended period of time become fatiguing, including all Polk's that have owned. I don't think it is the speakers fault, I am just very susceptible to fatigue. I have listened to these for hours with absolutely no fatigue. The bass is flat down to 30 Hz and hits hard. The mids and upper end are seamless.

I am going to try to find space to add an amp in the stand so I can really power them. Even my wife likes the sound and look. I thought she would tell me to get them out of the room, but she wants them to stay. Now I don't have to decide if I should replace the 1.2TL's. They are staying in my HT room in the basement. I know the placement isn't ideal, but I am going to have to live with it.

Congrats on the new aquisition :)

ESL's aren't for everyone but I know exactly how you feel.

You'll be wanting a powerful & low ohm stable amp to drive those babies.

Placing them can be a **** but once you get it right....:D

Check these guys out for more info: LINK

    Good luck :)

Thanks Halo. I have been there. Does any company make low profile center channel ESP's. I only have about 7" of clearance for the center. Also, looking for small surrounds. Thanks, Jeff

warlock - I've always felt that, since ESL's provide such a strong center image on their own, no additional center channel speaker is needed.

Mine are being used stirctly for 2 channel so YMMV. I have toyed with the idea of sticking a huge plasma in between the panels and if I did I'd go without a CC.

As for surrounds I don't know what'd be the best match for the ML's. Might want to ask some fellow ML owners for advice there.
