Just wondering if anyone had one and what you thought about it? Or if anyone has any suggestions on brands to go with or things to stay away from?
Thanks!

I second the Audiocontrol piece. Excellent RTA.
They are on the high side but I know of a lot of people that have scrounged up used ones for $500'ish.
Pretty much any 1/3 octave RTA is going to be pretty steep tho.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

These can be had for a reasonable price and include graphic and parametric EQ which you may or may not want to experiment with..http://www.behringer.com/DSP8024/index.cfm?lang=engTesting

Looks like I'm going to be going with one I can run through my laptop.
If anyone is interested, here it is:
http://www.trueaudio.com/catalog1.htm
The software itself ranges from $40 (1/3 octave) to $100 (1/24 octave)
Youll need a good SC. Unfortunately, I didnt opt to get one on my laptop because I didnt think I'd need it. I got a Refurbished SB Audigy NX2 for $60 shipped off ebay.
Mic-Behringer ECM8000 ~ $50
Mic preamp ~ $85
The 1/3 octave for $40 is about the same as your $7-800 RTAs, 1/24 is more along the lines of your $2000 RTAs. Now I doubt that this is as good as your stand alone units, but I keep hearing from different people that the software itself is every bit as good, its your mic or sound card that will be the limiting factor.

Thats pretty damn cool! I dont have a laptop tho so it would be cheaper for me to buy a $1000 RTA! I really need to get a laptop.
Right now all Ive got is my trusty $20 Walmart SPL meter and a couple CD's with test tones on them.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005
