Here's the information from the IRS on the amount of credit you can receive when buying a hybrid vehicle....

Depending on which state you live in, you may also qualify to use the car-pool lanes even if you are the sole occupant of a hybrid vehicle. For those of us in California, and purchased a hybrid vehicle before the quota was filled, you can actually use the car-pool lanes AND not pay bridge tolls (for example, the $4.00 for crossing the San Francisco Bay Bridge).

Thanks for the Info. We are considering getting one. Gas prices suck and we own 2 trucks.
2001 Nissan Xterra that gets horrible gas milage and a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder which gets better but not good gas milage.
