I have found an old adc stereo equalizer and I am confused how to hook it up. I have an harman hardon HK3480 stereo receiver and a sony dvd/cd player. How the hell do I hook this thing up?

Run it thru the tape loop if it has one, that way you can engage/disengage with a button.

you can hook it up to the tape loop, select what you want to hear, push the tape monitor button, and the EQ will will be in the signal path.

I do not have a tapedeck...just a sony dvd/cd player with the audio jacks hooked up the the cd jacks in the receiver.

hook the outputs of the EQ to the receivers tape 1 input, the inputs of the EQ to the receivers tape 1 output. On the receiver, select CD (or whatever you have the player hooked up to, then push the tape monitor button on the receiver. Bingo you are now listening to the eq, if you want to hear the player without the eq, push the tape monitor buton again.

    have fun

If you're H-K is like mine, it doesn't have tape loops. I bring the CD/SACD player cables directly in to the Eq and run another set in the the H-K CD input. Operate as normal.

If you're planning on playing SACD's the one EQ will only work on the one set of channels.
For five channels you'll need 3 Eq's. I use 2 as I do not alter the center voice channel.
