Digital vs Analog Interconnect

I was surfing for inexpensive interconnects on monoprice.com and came across their Premium 2 RCA Plug. http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021803&p_id=2869&seq=1&format=2&style=

Here's the description...

"High quality stereo analog interconnects for your hi fidelity system.

These premium quality cables feature thick RG59u, 75 ohm coax cables with 22AWG solid copper center conductor and heavy duty gold plated, corrosion resistant connectors."

Here's my beef...

I thought you weren't supposed to use 75 ohm coax for analog interconnects??? I thought 75 ohm coax were for digital IC and component video???

    that sounds a little small to me... 22 guage cables? :eek:

    says it all.. just replacements for those thin, generic interconnects you get when you buy an audio component. doesn't say it's a step up, increases performace, or add's clarity or any of that stuff... so i'd be lead to believe it's pretty low quality stuff.

    22awg is the same size Signal Cable uses for their Analog Two cables, which start at $49. The inteconnects that come with components are as small as 36awg.
    doesn't say it's a step up, increases performace, or add's clarity or any of that stuff... so i'd be lead to believe it's pretty low quality stuff.

    Isn't it refreshing? A company that doesn't lie and claim magical abilities for cable. The build quality is very good, BTW.

    I noticed a night and day difference going from monoprice "premium" analog cables to a nice set of cables, SignalCable, Alpha Core, etc..

    75-ohm coax is well-night perfect for "interconnects" for line-level analog components.
