Hi folks:

Your thoughts if this system will deliver the goods for a 12 feet x 13 feet room with an equal focus on music and movies.

Front LR: TC65i (in-walls)
Front Center: CSi5 or CSi3 or CS2
Rear LR: TC60i (round in-ceiling)
Sub-woofer: TBD
AVR: Denon 2807 (http://usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/3038.asp)
Sanyo PLV-Z5 projector with a DaLite Projection screen

Questions:
(1) These are 8 OHM speakers - will the Denon drive them comfortably?

(2) What do you recommend as a good match for centers (not in-wall)?

(3) I may have issues with the ceiling install for the rears in which case I need really small rectangulars (less than 11 inches), any suggestions?

Any other tips greatly appreciated!

Why not go inceiling center??? All inceiling makes for a killer home theater man. Get a good subwoofer and your set. Even another inwall will also make for a great setup man. I'm not big on the free standing center with inwall or inceiling everything else.

The Denon will drive those speakers with ease. It's a great match and a very good well equiped receiver. I like it alot.

Good point on the in-wall center. The situation is that the screen drops in front of a picture window that bumps out of the house. A ceiling center would be ten feet above and there is a space issue. However we may have a custom bench/cabinet built for the window that sits below the screen. So I have the option of either placing the center in the cabinet. Or having a custom cabinet designed for an in-wall center that will actually be in-bench. Any advantages of doing the latter - its more work.

    thanks.

I just installed a new system for my father-n-law with a very similar setup in the same size room. Only I used TC65i’s all the way around including the center. I’m using a 2807 to drive all five TC65i and it is plenty. I would like to try them with a separate amp but I’m not willing to haul my amp over there. I finished it off with a SVS 25-31 PC-Plus in the corner and his system sounds very good. As for the center, I created wooden frame outside the drywall so the center could be mounted in the wall but angled down to the viewer’s ear level while sitting.

Thanks for the feedback, Polk customer support concurs on the Denon.

Question on your in-walls - some posters talk about putting in insulation. And I think Polk talks about putting fireblocks above and below. Have you found the need for this? I have lathe+plaster walls.
