Can This Cause Any Damage?

Here is a unique connection, not so basic  ? I have the following connected to the same RTi10 speakers via the PSW505 sub:
1. Yamaha RX-V2700
2. Marantz SR-320 (early 80s receiver used for music).
Both are connected to my PSW505, then bi-wired out to the speakers from the sub. Separately, from the back of both receivers for the main speakers, I have speaker cables going to the speaker input of the PSW505.
I have the positive speaker leads from both receivers joined together at the sub end, into a banana plug into the PSW505, and the same for the negative set of leads as well.
I never have both the Yammie or the Marantz on at the same time and all appears to work OK  . This gives me the best of both worlds - Marantz for all music and Yammie for HT / TV etc., but I am curious to the likelihood of possible damage to any of the components, or if the receivers will see a different load thinking there are more speakers etc?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts / advice  .

Aussies are brave souls!!!! Well, I guess it works, at least so far, you might want to give Ken Swauger a call, but each amplifier brand has its own circuitry so what works once may not again with different brands, I used to do all kinds of crazy things when I was youngster and only blew up two amps I can remember.

Thanks RT1,
I'll check in with Ken as per your advice. The way I have been looking at it is the sub and the speakers are only getting 1 "live" feed at any time, as the alternate receiver is turned off.
Both appear to power the sub and speakers up normally when used on an individual basis, the only thing I really need to know I suppose is does the receiver that is powered off receive a signal back down the line? I'll check with Ken and go from there.
Thanks once again for your response .Regards - Gaz from the land of Oz

yes. if you are transmitting signal from one avr, and it is hooked directly to another one, the speaker current is being applied to the output section of the other amp. honestly, i cant believe that you cant actually hear the interaction. does your yamaha have preamp outs? if so, do the marantz the way you have it, but use preamp-level signals for the other AVR. this electrically seperates the output sections of the two amps, thus eliminating potential for damage. you will have to revise your wiring scheme. otherwise, i agree with:I don't know how you have not blown one of them by now,

Get a speaker wire switch box.
+1, that just ain't right. Get a speaker switch box. -
Hi guys,
Thanks for all your feedback. I will get a speaker wire switch box, but in the short term I have separated the 2 amplifier inputs and plug them into the PSW505 as I use the different one.
I understand that it may have caused damage to some components, but is there a "logical" explanation of what it may have done, considering only one receiver was on at a time? This is the bit I cannot get my head around - that said I have certainly heeded all of your warnings and rectified the situation in the short term.
Thanks again for your feedback and anyone who wants to dip their toe in the water for the "logical" explanation, it would be appreciated.Regards - Gaz from the land of Oz

If you don't understand how anything could happen to the receiver that is turned off, disconnect the speaker wires from the dead receiver, turn up the volume on the live one and stick the leads to your tongue. Hi Dennis,
Thanks - was going to try a more conventional method of a multi meter, but that wasn't available . Had to re hook it up that way again and then tried your tongue test and nada, not a bit of current coming through  - remember, both amps were hooked up into the PSW505 speaker "input", so maybe this eliminated the problem?
Anyway, as I state, it is now hooked up individually and I'll plug and play as required.Regards - Gaz from the land of Oz

Hey Tony,
As per above post to Dennis, your suggestion would have been great and probably the most excitement I would have had all day  , , but no current unfortunately .
