Hey. I'm new to audio so i dont know much. but heres whats going on. I have two 12" kicker cvrs hooked up to a crunch 1000 watt amp. i was driving around and noticed that there was no bass!! so i stoped and checked that all the cables were connected good. The fuse holder for the amp wire was melted. so i changed the fuse holder and fuse and again checked all the cables for loose wires. The subs move but nothing compared to how they used to move before. I also inspected the box and it has a crack near the middle on the right side. Is the crack holding back the power of these subs? or did i blow them ? they still move: confused: anythign you say will be appreciated. thank you

I think you will get more traffic in the Car Audio section, but I would check the amp to see if it is damaged as well....A melted fuse junction is NEVER a good thing...Also, what Gauge of power wire are you using? Wire that is too small to handle this power can cause some serious problems...I operate on the principal that if 10 gauge is recommended, then I will use 8 for insurance...You should replace the cracked box or rebuild it and re-seal it, but I would look at that amp...You may want to look into a higher quality amp as well...Welcome, by the way.

Follow Bill's suggestions.. Get someone to check out your amp and speakers. Also, check the wiring, the wires themselves could get damaged if they gauge is too small. Usually people wire 1kW+ sub amps with up to 0 AWG wire.Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies
