The DACs are pretty outdated. Parts are expensive and/or unobtainium.
I think you could do better for the money. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
Depending on what you get it for, it's a good player. I have Installed many of them with great results. Some of my old clients really love it. One guy has one along with a rack full of older Pioneer Elite gear. He just swapped out his vsx29tx for a vsx84txsi. It even sound great in his system. He has Monitor Audio speakers.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -

With "Stable Platter" transport?
Pretty sure the PD-71 does not have the stable platter. That was on the PD-65 and PD-75, and PD-s95 (and possibly the PD-93). The ones with the stable platter make excellent transports for a high end DAC.For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -

Old people like it?
I had the newer much higher tech DV47Ai and didn't care for it. Just didn't have any heart somehow. Never could quite put my finger on it.
madmaxVinyl, the final frontier...
Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want...
