My wife and I are celebrating our 5th anniversary this month. Technically it falls on the 15th, but I couldn't wait to give her her gift. Mainly because I was afraid the secret would somehow leak out. It's a new VW Jetta TDI Special Edition 5spd in Blue Graphite. This is one amazing little car. It was a total blast surprising her with it. I'll never forget the look on her face.

    She actually learned how to drive on a manual. She's a little rusty, but seem to be enjoying it. Plus this car has the most forgiving 5spd you can find. With all the torque of the diesel as long as you are a little above idle you can pretty much drop the clutch and go.

    Actually I'm shocked how good the factory system sounds. It's really not far off from the Mark Levinson system in my Lexus. I honestly don't think I'll have to change a thing.

    Yea...there are a lot worse places to live. Those photos were actually take at my parents place where I hid the car. I live about an hour from them in the city. Well....as "city" as Iowa gets.

    Super nice gift. I would have loved to have seen her face. Now, don't forget about the "Man Rule!!! That baby has to be christened. May I suggest scotch gard on the seats for easy clean up!!! :D
