What is the best speaker wire?
I pleasure myself with KY and a coke bottle.

    Metal Coat hanger.

Downsides are that you have to scape the paint off the end and your speakers can only be about 4 feet apart (if your amp is between them) but the sound is to die for....

Since you asked for brands, I always found macys to have the highest guage coat hangers so that is where I would get them.
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)

McLoki - You and your Macys brand...

Macys brand is okay but let’s face it, they are way overpriced. You can find hangers just as good at Kohl's.

You can't even hang a decent jacket on a kohls hanger - don't waste your time. I know Macys is a little more expensive, but if you watch on audiogon or the joanne fabrics foums frequently, you can get them for a good price..

Kohls... the mark of a newbie if ever I heard one. (next you will be saying that the unpainted ones work as well as the classic black ones...)

Can the wooden hangars be modified to work with banna connectors? Do they work as well as the cheap metal hangars? I can get some cheap at SAM's club and it seems like they would be nicer than metal.

20 ft Jumper cables work quite well. They aren't exactly WAF.

For really wide separation, I'd suggest coat hangers from Lane Bryant.

Anthony, just in case you're getting the idea that some of the guys are kidding about the coat hangers, they're not. Undoubtedly they were so impressed by these audio exploits of Al Magnani that they've continued his research and made remarkable new discoveries that will forever alter the course of the wire wars.

I always knew Corey Hart would eventually grace us with his esteemed presence. Now if only we can smoke out Frank Stallone, Loverboy, and the keytar player from Jefferson Starship, the circle of life will finally be complete.
