Moving up the audio food chain/Listening habits

As I've become pretty satisfied with my audio equipment (laughable to some I'm sure), I find my listening habits have changed completely. I rarely sit in front of the speakers and listen. I now listen from everywhere in the house depending on what I'm doing (computer, laundry, cleaning, shaving, etc).

I don't exactly blast the speakers either, usually 9-10 o'clock.

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and your thoughts, explanations, etc.

Just the opposite for me. The music compels me to sit in front of the stereo and listen to it. It's too distracting to do anything else.

I have no experience with this one, but it looks (and I'm sure sounds) sweet.

That is sexy, if a bit of a thread jack.

As for me, I find myself camped more often then not in front of my computer doing things, so my main rig isn't getting as much action as it used to.

I LOVE to sit and listen smack dab in the sweet spot, but only get to do that once or maybe twice a week. Other times I'll have the system on, playing music and, though I can't sit in front of it to really enjoy, still just like having music playing. Sounds better than nothing.

****, that was supposed to go in the integrated thread. I'll move it to its appropriate place.

I find my self frustrated in my listening. I've got 4 kids in the house and my wife likes the radio in the kitchen. I never get quality time to listen (sitting in front of the system in the sweet spot) unless everyone is gone. Sometimes I can steal a few minutes during the day when nobody else is around. The kids are in bed by 8:30, so can't play after that. Before 8:30 the family takes priority. Sometimes I wonder if I deserve my SDAs. They might as well be monitors if I'm wandering around the house when I listen.

Not me. I plop myself down on the couch in the listening sweet spot and hang there for hours. I have a couple of nice setups and do the same in the bedroom, as the sweet spot is, well, nevermind. Mrs. Schwingding and I have adopted a little nightly listening session right before we go to sleep. Great music on a sweet system, lights out, then boom, we're out.

I work in the garage on my bicycles regularly and am putting another not quite as nice system out there, too.

I go back and forth with it man. I actually Boxed up my Dynaudio Audience 82's and Installed another pair of Dynaudio Audience 42w's on wall as my mains. My wife wanted more space and I gladly allowed this change.

I work in the field so I listen all day long. I get beat on it from time to time but then I get the Hots for my Long loved 82's. Funny I have been planning on putting them back out. Many changes have gone on for me with my house and what not so I have put Audio and video on the back burner.

House music is cool 2. I have speakers all over my house and we had our deck build last year and now I'm gonna put out my Outdoor speakers (polk Atruims). I don't really listen to 2 channel like I used to so I can listen to all kinds of music around the house and in the car with no desire for better. But like I said Lately I have been thinking of my lonely 82's and I think they are coming out soon!!! I do miss them.
