The amp of your dreams...what would it be?

This is an easy one for me. Without blinking an eye it would be a McIntosh. The MC402 in particular. Oodles of pure American muscle, 400w per channel (min) to be exact. I just love the history of the company, the technology, and lets not forget those gorgeous blue meters. To my ears the sound is just so sweet & involving that I get goose bumps. Well, like the title says - the amp of your dreams. I've been saving loose change for some time now & maybe in a few more years. Till then I'll just "Dream On"

I do not think I would ever have to upgrade the amps again for any future speaker that I would end up with.

A dream power amp should be able to run anything you put in front of it (dream speakers or not) and get the best that they can be out of them.
A dream Preamp is to fleeting. It is like a computer in that it is at its peak only until the next standard comes out. (on the good side, then the dream preamps become afforable - for those who still want them.)
i.e. - 5 or 10 years from now, these will still be awesome power amps. Any high end preamp now though will be in the bargain bin well within a 5 year time span (at least that is where I am hoping to find them ).
