I think 115db is a bit too loud...better save your hearing and listen at a few db lower; just my opinion.

Isn't pain threshold of a NORMAL human being 115 db?

    Define normal...

And that's with HALF of the power I plan to use. I could probably go higher, but it starts breaking up, and those **** are expensive to fix. I think the extra power will allow me to reach my intended goal with much better control.

Sterilization is actually the true goal..
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Was just checking that earlier tonight. 80-82db at about 9.5 feet for music.

I have 10db of hearing loss between 2-8Khz though, from racing loud cars and boats, and constant tinnitus that is noticeable up to 50db before it gets drowned out by other sounds.

Just checked today. Ever since I got my new speakers I listen a bit louder now, around 70-75db.

I just checked this weekend. When listening at a "comfortable" level for long term listening I seem to be around 85dB. When I am doing critical listening, or showing off my system, it looks like I am around 100dB. .....I haven't turned it up to "drunk party" levels yet to see yet, but 100dB was -18dB on my H/K and I generally end up ramping the volume up to -10dB when friends are over partying.
