I'll never forget Eddie Murphy: Delirious.

Phil Hartman and Dan Akroyd have some of the best delivery.

I love the old Larry the Cable Guy from ten years ago, he had great commentaries on the radio and it only cost $6 to see him in Omaha. He's still got a house in Lincoln according to wikipedia. Seems like he's toned down his act a little bit (a little more PC) since then.

    Dave Chappelle kicks arse.

I remember listening to Bill Cosby on record, good stuff.

Best ever for me would be a toss up between Richard Pryor and George Carlin.

Best current - Rodney Carrington. I caught his act on Comedy Central. Hilarious.

I listed "Dennis Miller", when I actually meant "Dennis Leary".

One's funny. The other should be shot at high noon in the middle of Main Street with a rusty bullet.

BTW.....Larry the Cable Guy is funny. :)

I like a lot of the classics. (Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Bill Cosby, Steve Martin - as well as a few newer ones (now older) like Robin Williams, and Eddie Murphy. About the funniest I have heard recently has been Eddie Izzard. (his dress to kill DVD was quite good - I have heard some of his others are not so great. Well worth checking out next time you are cruzing through the rental store though.)

My wife got me tickets to a George Carlin concert about 5 years ago since I said that I really liked him and I could not believe what a bitter old man he has become - only his classic stuff got any laughs. To bad really because he used to be really funny.

Gallagher, caught his two hour show in Tempe, AZ 22 years ago. Heard from many people that he is a class act off the stage.

Bill Cosby, what more needs to be said, the man's comedy albums ring so true some 40 years later.

Larry the Cable Guy, this guy has a delivery that makes his classic lines still fresh no matter how many times one hears them.

+1 on Carlin's more recent stuff.

The guy has become so negative and cynical that he's hard to swallow. He takes on everything - tree-huggers, religion, golfers - you name it. He doesn't have anything positive in his act whatsoever, just criticisms. Bitter was the perfect adjective to describe him.

I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Jon Stewart had me laughing 'til my stomach hurt. He was a lot more multi-dimnesional then I thought he was going to be; political humor was probably about a third of his act. SNL cast has had some classics, Akroyd's dead pan, Belushi, Farley and Chevy with their physical humor. Marx brothers and the Three Stooges were probably fundamental in the development of every comedian (in some way or another) in this post.

I'll second that one, that dude is a trip!

I don't think I've seen Steven Wright mentioned yet and that saddens me. He's one of my favorites. My other favorites have been mentioned already.

A guilty pleasure though? Gallagher! One of the better prop comics. The Amazing Jonathan is pretty good too.
