I'm not much of a cat person....But Snowflake was a good cat. She was a present for my youngest daughter on her 3rd birthday in 1990. A week ago she appeared to be in good health. Yesterday I spent 5 hours at the vet trying to figure out if it was cancer or heart problems causing the fluid in her chest cavity. This afternoon we got the answer when she had a massive heart attack and died while I was holding her. The girls loved her a lot and she will be missed....even by me.

Yes it was. My 20 year old made the comment that she could never remember a time that she didn't have Snowflake.

It's always rough when you lose a pet. I almost had a cat like yours but when she was just a kitten someone stole her from my detached garage. Next was a black one that kept mice out of our zip code. She lived to about 14. Pets are cool. Good owners are cooler.

You know, I've been around a while, but I'd never heard that. That's pretty good advice.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your cat, but to hang around for 17 years would seem to indicate that she must have enjoyed the tour.

I'm with you on that one. I pretty much hated cats until 2 years ago when my wife brought home one of my best friends, Chaucer. We recently got him a brother to play around with and I'm pretty much a cat lover now. Don't get me wrong, as soon as we buy our house I'm getting a dog, and I will always prefer a dog! :D

I'm very sorry for your loss. 17 years is excellent if you think about it. That kittie is in heaven now, eating all the tuna and chicken in the world! Be HAPPY she's where she is.
