I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD DVR box and a Samsung 56" DLP. When turning the DLP on, the audio will sometimes cut out.
I'm using a HDMI cable and optical out from the DVR to my Onkyo, then HDMI to my DLP.
Is this normal for a HDMI connection?
TIA!

It's normal because of the HDCP handshake that goes on when you connect an HDMI+HDCP device to another device equipped with HDCP.
