Do they go lower than my DefTech BP10B's?

'cause the DefTechs have *too much* bass, when run flat.

    40hz was like -6db, 25hz was -10db...

Oh, no wonder. So that must be the marketing dept. at work...

But if I didn't know that the speakers did -6db at 40Hz, I would think they go 20Hz-20k flat~!

I'd like to hear your impressions of music with and without sub.

Well... I havnt got a SPL meter yet - and trying to dial that VMPS in for music is easy, but its hard to get it at a good volume... haha..

So with a sub its hard to say - the VMPS is FAST though.

I dunno, will report back. The Khartago is a lil weak for the 7u.

Yeah, you're probably right. Even though the 7U's are rated at 92 dB sensitivity, they need lots of power to really get them going. I found that out with the Taylo Reference Monitors. They like to feel the power. The Stratos will be more than sufficient. When do you anticipate it's arrival?

    Probally next 2 monthsish...

Give or take - the Khartago gives out way to early. And mine is a Stratos in a Khartago case...

The Stratos Extreme should do alot better with the dual power supplies and more capatinance...

    But yep, will report back.

Alright so Ive ran my sub off for a few days..

When i first turned it off... I double checked it - not once, not twice, but THREE times to make sure that sub was off. Turned the Paradigm volume all the way down, turned off the amp - just to make sure.

I could hardly tell a difference with a sub on vs not on except in the VERY lowest of octaves.

The amount of bass is just SICK, very fast articulate, just... oustanding. Lots of texture and punch. Even handles rap music with alot of authority.

I suppose you won't be needing that sub anymore, huh?

Eh, I watch movies - and I like that last octave, but getting that sub dialed in will be difficult.

    The Taylos are just... phenominal.

Just, wow. I have never heard a speaker with the abilities they have.

I would suggest you listen a while without the sub, then connect the sub and adjust it to the point where you cannot hear the sub at all. Meaning that after the adjustment, turning the sub on/off does not make a difference in the sound.

That's how I adjust for flat response.

Nice, whats even nicer is all the experience you have. I found a 2nd sub beneficial for HT, but its in a large room, you know how I feel about subs and music, although I am softening a bit on that stance.

    Anyway, looking good.

    Thanks RT.

Guys, I think I may have found me the rig to last a while.

Plays bad recordings good and good recordings even better.

    Absolutely, phenominal.

And BTW, the entire time I thought my sub was hooked up - I had it wired wrong. it was never on.

The 7u is just outstanding... HAHAHAH and the subwoofer is awesome, even though I thought it was on. *sigh*

FWIW - it was on the first few weeks I got it. When I went to bridge my amp, I wired it up wrong at the speaker terminals. So I have actually heard the sub before now. Just a FWIW.

How'd ya wire it wrong? I thought when you bridge an amp you just connect the two positive terminals to the speaker - though I might be mistaken.

    Edit: positive, not negative...oops

Well it clearly states to connect the two positive connections together for bridging...

I just connected it to the 1st channel. My bad.

connect the two positive connections together for bridging...

Is that connect the two positive connections together, or to the speaker?

I think connect the two positive connections together would be a dead short.

Just want to make sure I understand the whole bridging concept.
