Buzzing or Humming Speakers Help!

We have just spent a few thousand dollars on a new TV and audio system. We have a Denon receiver, Polk in wall/ceiling speakers and used monster cable for all of our cables. We ran the speaker wire when we were re-doing the drywall in our house a few months ago and was sure that the electrical wires and speaker wire didn't touch.
Problem. We have just hooked everything up and when the lights are on there is a loud buzzing/humming sound coming out of the speakers. When the lights are off it sounds great. What can we do to fix this problem?

The lights are on a different circuit than the tv/audio setup and the speakers are about 2-3 feet from the lights.

Thanks!

    Is the speaker cable shielded?

dimmer would be my first guess also..

any florescent (sp) lights in the room?

and like F1Nut said.. is the speaker wire sheilded?

is the buzz/hum on all speakers or just some of them?

Are the electrical wires running parallel to the speaker wires? Within say, 6 inches [or closer] or so over a long run?

Could you clarify as to whether it is a buzz [high frequency] or a hum [low frequency]? Or both?

I use an APC power conditioner and this has eliminated all of my humming problems.

Also check for ground loops. Unplug each piece of equipment and see if it goes away. I agree that this is probably the dimmer.
