RT3000p audio pops

My pair of RT3000p speakers are exhibiting some audio pops through the subwoofers during playback. The pops are predictable. A single pop will occur maybe a half second or so after a continuous section of audio. This means that few pops may be heard in a classical string piece, but quite a few will occur during dialog.
I have tried different sources (CD/DVD player, radio, media center PC), and even hooked up a different amp. The pops still occur, and through both subwoofer modules (I disconnected the satellites to make sure of the source of the pops).
Any ideas as to what the problem may be?
