Budget speaker cable - Python2 12 AWG?

Can anyone let me know what they think about Python2 speaker cable?

http://www.pacificcable.com/Picture_Page.asp?DataName=255-513CL

I found 100' for $50 shipped, and that's pretty much all I can afford.

I think 100 feet will be enough to wire my 5-speaker home theater in the new condo.

Any other recommendations for similarly priced budget cables? Thanks!

[EDIT]Monoprice 12 AWG cable. LOOKS the same as Python2, oxygen-free, PVC insulation, etc... WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE??? [/EDIT]

[EDIT #2]Also need Banana terminations. Monoprice has screw-on banana connectors for ~1.56 per PAIR (if bought 8+ or somethhing - I need 10 pairs anyway). ARE THESE ANY GOOD?? [/EDIT]

There are so many cheaper speaker wires out there - Python (slightly cheaper than Python2), Belkin, Monster, Phoenix...

Usually these wires are around 16 AWG, but Python2 is 12 AWG (and for extra $5 per 100' I can get 10 AWG, but that would be an overkill for my wire runs).

Try BlueJeans Cable. The Belden 5000 is $.38 a foot,12 AWG, in wall rated and easy to work with. Excellent cable IMHO.

Yeah, that looks great too... $38+~$6 for shipping is within my budget...

Still can't figure out what in the world is the difference??? All of these cables are same AWG, same conductor material, same insulation, same construction (stranded, etc.)...

[EDIT]Just wanted to add a link to BlueJeans Belden cables. 0.38-0.40/foot is not bad, considering how much you guys love these wires: http://bluejeanscable.com/store/speaker/index.htm [/EDIT]

Umm... Black or white magic, I don't care... I want to read some reviews... and not for $1000/ft cables, just decent $0.5-0.75/ft ones... (being electrical engineer, I'll understand).

I have read some scientific and some audio articles...

This one is very simple and good: http://www.roger-russell.com/wire/wire.htm . Just shows how subjective everything is, and as long as you use good wire (constant resistance (I wouldn't even call it impedance), stay within approximate AWG. vs length ratio), you shouldn't have problems..

    Hopefully I convinced myself...

[edit]I will expect the difference, although minor, when I'll install one of these 12 AWG instead of my current (very cheap, picked up in some electronics store when really needed) 16 AWG wires... we'll see next month :) [/edit]

Do the Belden, I'm running it and I wired my brothers whole house with it. For a budget price it's a steal.

    +1

I used this wire myself for my rear surround speakers. Used it in my attic, the walls. Used 600' of it. :) Well I used it for my whole house audio speaker system also.

I have the solder on (but solder not needed) connectors from monoprice and I like them a lot. I like monoprice cables.

After checking out Belden 12 AWG cable ($44 shipped) vs. 12 AWG Monoprice cable ($35 shipped), I think it's worth trying Belden. The only thing that is holding me now is that Monoprice's banana plugs are 1/2 price of the ones sold on Blue Jeans site, and I'd prefer to buy it all together.

Considering your log in, Viper AV cables came to mind. The site is cut in below. I bought a set of the Studio Pro Speaker Cables off of ebay about six months ago for about $60. They are well built, nice sounding cables. I have used Monster, and Belkin cables as well, and these are really nice, especially at the ebay price. Good luck.
