1st things first. IF you couldnt afford an entertainment center (walmart 99.98) you shouldnt put those speakers to shame by placing them beside the two tv stand (is that used for pip that is picture in picture for those of you who dont know.) not only that but do I see cardboard under the "audio rack" to make sure that it doesnt fall over...

    P.S. NICE Speakers.......scott:cool:

Before I scrolled down I thought for sure the hillbilly TV stand would be one of those large round cable spools.

Dude classic tv on a tv.......LOLOLO hahaha effin classic.
That tower you have I bet came from a Sears big screen wall unit right? It looks like the one in my buddies room without the rest of it.

Dude ever consider pulling those monsters away from the back wall? And maybe just alittle further apart?

I bet with alittle tweaking, your system could sound real good,It most likely does already, but there's room for Improvement and you won't even have to spend any money........he wood paneling....haa I got wood walls in my current listening room..man does that pose a problem,my room suck real bad at higher volumes.
I se that sub peeking out form the corner...............

    mantis,

So, how far away from the wall do you recommend. I have the same speakers and have my bolted to the wall with the bass brace. I found that I liked them best at 5 1/2". I would think the distance issue depends on the room and personal taste....I found the bass to be better at the above distance.

Polk's manual does not say how for to place these SDA's from the wall only that the closer to the wall = more bass.

I will say that the threaded rod used for the bass brace on the 1.2 and 2.3 speakers is 15 to 18" long, I suppose you can read into that, that Polk had 18" as the max. Ken? somebody??

I agree with the 18" or less......I would like to put mine closer to the wall, but would not work with the TV and all so far out. Maybe one day mantis will fix it for me......
