From what I've read, the SDA-1C comes with 4) SL2000 tweeters, correct? Which ones are these in the ones pictured? Aren't they some of the new type? RD0194's? I can't remember which ones are compatible for swapping out with the 2000.

Those are SL3000's and are not suppose to be in those speakers.

Pull one of the tweets, and it should be labeled on the back. As F1 has stated they do look like SL3000's with the dark metallic look.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

The only SDA speakers that were designed to use the SL3000 tweeters are the 1.2TL, 2.3TL and 3.1TL. The TL stands for tri-laminate. The 1C's were designed to use the SL2000, none of the SDA's ever used the SL2500.

No need to pull those tweeters in the picture, I guarantee they are SL3000's.

SL2000's, but you know how Polk was back then. They probally slipped a couple out the door with 2500's in them:D

how did it happen do you think then? that's very odd.. and it's not like just one of the tweeters is wrong.. all four of them are.. which seems strange to me.

Al, the most common reason would be that some folks don't know WTF they are doing.

That's kind of what I thought, too. Somehow they ended up with (what I thought was) the SL3000's. I'll just put them on Ebay and buy the RD0194's since that's the recommended upgrade, anyway. I'll pick them up later this week so I'm excited. Maybe I won't be travelling long enough to listen to them!

Oh...the second Carver M-1.0t that I had bought from a friend in IL never made it out of the terminal. Tracking shows it dropped off, scanned, and then no movement for 10 days. Pisses me off...that's the first trouble I've had with Fedex. It was being shipped directly to Carver Repair in WA. Oh well...
