Rough Couple Weeks

Man.

Two weeks ago I got back from a 10-day Caribbean cruise, which was awesome.

The day I get back to Miami, my mom calls and tells me my grandfather, who I was very close to, passed away the Friday before, and that the wake and funeral were Monday and Tuesday. So that was a fun way to get back in to the real world.

THEN all last week my 3-year old niece has been really sick; they thought she had a really bad cold or something. My brother takes her to the doctors a second time on Friday night because she's getting worse, and it turns out she has pneumonia and has been admitted to the hospital. There's nothing worse than seeing a 3-year old in a hospital bed on oxygen and IV.

Not to mention that said brother's WIFE is also sick, and 8 months pregnant, and hanging out at the hospital taking care of her daughter isn't helping I'm sure.

Blah, it's just turning into a **** couple weeks.

    25 years ago (1982) my grandfather took a rest. I am thankful for the time I was given working with him. By age 6 I knew that I was with someone special. I learned a lot from him and re-live memories of him at least once a week. Remember what you have done with your granddad and keep it close to your heart. Pass it forward. Kids are strong but only with reassurance. Spend time with your niece. She and your bro's wife are in our prayers.

    Just got back from the hospital, the niece is doing much better, and they just released her. Should be back to normal in a couple days :)
