I just bought an RM6750 home theater speaker set, and when I turn the sub on it just crackles, no matter how I hook up to it and even with nothing connected. Is this thing blown or defective, or am I missing something?

That can't be a good thing.

    I'd call Polk customer service.

Shouldn't be doing that :) If you just got it, I'd suggest taking it back to the store for an exchange.

Take it back to the store you bought it from. Something is wrong with the sub.
