Blue Glowing Tubes

I noticed last night that my TungSol 6550's were having a nice blue glow to them. I thought maybe for a sec I was having a nice flashback to daze gone bye. But I had to keep coming back and looking at what I thought couldn't be there. There it was.....a Blue Hue in my Tubes. Has anybody ever seen this?. I know of Halo Getters....but this is different. I checked again today and its still there. All 4 tubes have a Blue Glow to them??? I'm almost compelled to remove them and save for the sake of rareity???

BTW...they only have about 20 hours on them as I replace all tubes after 150 hrs. The all knowing gold/yellow glow of the normal tube lightness is still present.

Why are you replacing tubes after 150 hours?

Blue is perfectly fine, as long as the bias is inline.

    Say that 5 times fast.

LOL.....pics to follow. I find that Tubes sound good for the first 150 hours and roll off after that. I save the old tubes matched for replacement as I feel the need for mellower tone.

You're nuts. Not your nuts, you are freaking nuts. Not in a good way, mind you. You need professional help.

A regular psychiatrist couldn't even help stereo_luver. stereo_luver needs to go to like Vienna or something. You know what I mean? stereo_luver needs to get involved at the University level. Like where Freud studied and have all those people looking at him and checking up on him. That's the kind of help stereo_luver needs.

Not the once a week for eighty bucks. No. stereo_luver needs a team. A team of psychiatrists working round the clock thinking about him, having conferences, observing him, like the way they did with the Elephant Man. That's what I'm talking about, because that's the only way stereo_luver is going to get better.

    Cheers,
    Russ

I think stereo_luver is spot on!!!

I mean, he absolutely LOVES his solid state amps, and after 150 hours, those 6550's start to soften up and sound like tubes!! Of course he has to replace them :D
