How about this: Onkyo TX-NR1000 or Denon AVR-5805CI?
And also what about this: Denon DVD-5910CI or Toshiba HD-XA2? -
What I don't get is why are receivers being recommended recently instead of pres? I would imagine something like Onkyo's Integra Research RDC 7.1 would be a better choice then the Onkyo receiver.

REGARDS SNOWWell, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all -
Denon is supposed to be a neutral sound right? What kinda sound would you say Onkyo had? Or Onkyo Integra...would it have a different sound? I've heard Onkyo being compared to Yamaha as being bright. I have Onkyo and I wouldn't call them bright except for music but...that could be because of my Monitor 40's. Would a 5805CI power LSi's? Does anybody have one of these behemoth's? How do they like them? And does anybody have any Onkyo TX-NR1000? If so...how do you like it compared to the 5805CI?
