Just got back from the marathon of B-movie action we call the Grindhouse.

    ****POSSIBLE SPOILER BELOW!!!****

Planet Terror - Great Man movie. Plot sucked, acting sucked, lots of action, hot chicks showing skin, pointless explosions, mutants/zombies, blood splattering, Fergie died (HURRAY!), limbs getting ripped off with the greatest of ease... overall a great man movie!

Death Proof - WTF was that QT??? Horrible is what I call it. Talk about retarded and pointless. Started out boring, then a big collision. Then what felt like 4 hours of boringness/time filler and then a cool car chase scene that went on way to long and ended really bad. Acting was better than in Planet Terror but for what? They spent all that time building up the first group of girl's storyline for a cool ending to them. Then the buildup of the next group of girls was so boring, all I could keep hearing in my head was from Monty Python's Holy Grail, "GET ON WITH IT!" That was the only thing that kept me awake was my laughing at the mental thought of that. GET ON WITH IT! Oh oh sorry... So the ending was....eh. And could there be a few more "Mother ****" thrown in there or what??? Damn! Definitely had the feeling of QT with absolutely no idea where he wanted the story to go and really took some of my respect for QT down a couple notches. Pathetic and an hour and a half I'll never get back. Because of that alone, I will not own this movie. I don't think I'll get a want to watch Planet Terror again so no, I won't even rent this.

bad acting in planet terror? uh..its suppsoe ot be a tribute to the old exploitation movies which always had pretty bad acting..im sur eit was intentional
gotta agree on the QT portion..it did not even feel like an old exploitation movie..had too much of a contemporary feel to it and tons of stupid female banter..i thought i was watching gilmore girls for a minute

I'll take that as a compliment. Thank you Demiurge. Being a ST fan beats the hell out of bein a tow thirds geek, dickhead and momma's boy. And Star Trek fans don't have a desire to shove hot ice picks under their toe nails either. Nuff said. :)

Are you serious, Keiko? I smell.....
    Death Proof ruled.
    You drooled.

And Death Proof still rocked. Exponentially.

Fair 'nuff. Nothing personal. I just happened to find it necessary to watch the flick seven or eight times in the span of a couple of days. Brought that much enjoyment to my life. Made me want to make a difference.

    Cars go "Bang"!!!!!

This movie was alot of fun. I had some problems with Deathproof (the chicks talking was a little over blown), but overall the experience was great. I hated what they did when they released it to DVD. They cut out some of the trailers and released it on 2 DVD's. Those trailers were fantastic and really added to the experience.

I'm hoping they make it one movie when they bring it to Blu Ray. I have also been putting of purchasing Kill Bill on DVD or Blu Ray because there is talk of combining of the 2 movies into a box set called 'The Whole Bloody Affair'. Kind of a directors cut. Who knows how long I'll have to wait or if it is just a rumor.

I am looking forward to 'Inglorious ****', QT's next movie. The trailer is fantastic.

BTW: A special edition Blu-ray of Grindhouse is due out in October. Sadly, it looks like it's a 2-disc set with each movie on a separate disc... meaning it will not be the identical seamless presentation from the theater. It should, at least, have all of the awesome fake trailers shown in the theater, whereas the previous releases do not. Expect this to come out around the time Machete drops in theaters.
