Police have found $206 million in cash tied to drug smugglers who imported chemicals used to make methamphetamines. The money was piled inside a mansion in a wealthy Mexico City neighborhood.

1 small box of that money and I could be happy for a while. :D

When I was in Mexico City I wondered why the cops drove such nice cars and lived in really nice houses.:p

That picture would make a great recruitment poster for the Mexico City police department: "Sign up and GET RICH QUICK!":)

Ok, now I understand why members of Mexico's law enforcement, judiciary, and political establishments never migrate north in search of a better life. Thanks for the clarification.;)

It is? How do you know this?

I would assume when you see those bundles groups of 100 dollar bills they're in bundles of 100, or 10,000 dollars, right?

It would take 20,000 of those bundles to make 206 million dollars.

From that picture, let's say it's nine rows deep and 33 rows wide, which means there's 297 piles.

20000 bundles in 297 piles would be 67 bundles per pile. Even if a bundle is only an inch, that's over five feet per pile.

Seems reasonable to assume those are all hundreds.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

    Well, I was curious :)

It seemed like an absurdly large stack to me too, so a little counting and dividing later and now we all know :

Looking at the picture, those tiles are about 12 x 12; a US bill is just over 2.5 inches wide.

That is a big stack of money. Also bands of 100 bills or $10,000 in 100s is closer to half an inch i think. So 2.5 feet high instead of 5 feet high makes more sense given the hight of the stacks relative to the size of the tiles.

You are right. I thought it was huge, and calculated it out as you did, but I dropped a zero!:o
