POLK XRt12 XM Reset Problem

I am using the Polk XRt 12 in my whole house audio system with the Elan touch screens throughout the house. Recently, I have noticed almost every day, the tuner reverts back to the XM Preview station and I am unable to control the stations from the remote panels. I have to go down to the equipment room and power off the unit and power the unit back up in order to get bact to all the stations. Any thoughts on what is causing the problem?

Thanks

JJL

    Hello,
Thanks for posting on the Forum. Are you keeping your tuner on 24/7?
    Regards, Ken, Polk Audio

does it need to acquire update almost daily? It is going to the XM Preview Station almost every 24 hours which then requires that I go to the equipment room in the basement, power off, then power back up??????

I can leave mine on for a few days, but you have to power down for the updates...

once you shut her down and then back up , every few days it`s a good idea to restart...just like a computer

Ken can give you more details than I can, but that is my understanding

    Hope this helps....

I experience the same thing of needing to reboot my XRt12 after it running 24/7 in my whole house audio system. My take on it is more of the music industry not wanting people to use the receiver in constant music streaming applications for commercial purposes. Most XM receivers are in cars or stereo systems where the unit would be turned off periodically and you wouldn't notice this. I never used to have this problem so I don't think its "updates" because DirecTV does updates all the time to their receivers and we don't have to reboot them. Just my take on the problem

XM was originally used in cars with on/off cycles. Polk Audio has a fix for this. Give them a call:
