I have a question? I loved the SDA-SRS series speakers, Big yes and bulky but sounded awesome. I have noticed polk still produces srs speakers for car audio. Why doesnt polk produce SRS speakers for home audio anymore?

Also What speaker does Polk build now that is comprible to the SDA-SRS 1.2tl?

I have a set of monitor 70 speakers now i just bought them last month, do these have a break in period?

And what amplifier power is recommended if Bi amping them?

Polk Audio does not currently produce an "SDA" speaker for a 12V application. You may be confusing the new "SR" or Signature Reference series with your love, and many others, of vintage SDA technology.

Since the Top Of The Line speaker for home stereo at that time was the SDA SRS 1.2TL, the TOTL LSi25 would be a current market equivalent. They have a diverse line of products, in-wall loudspeakers for example, that could also compete in a "TOTL" classification.

The Break-In idea is subjective, listen first and listen much later to make that decision on your own.

You may Bi-Amp with whatever wpc you want as I have no opinion on that idea.

You'll most likely get into high distortion before you'll blow a loudspeaker up....but you may take a couple drivers out with that experiment.

    Good luck.

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.

I've found that stereo amps aren't too shabby, depending on the level of commitment.

Yep, I would love a Levinson, Krell, Spectral or any of those types of stereo amps but the Parasound is what's in my system and it isn't too "shabby.":D

You have me confused now LOL. One set of mono blocks would be one amplifier for the left speaker and one amplifier for the right speaker. If you have a stereo amplifier, that one amplifier will power the left and right speakers.

A mono block can power one channel's speaker only. A stereo amplifier being two channels can power two speakers. Capisch paisano?

Faak man. Walk before you run.

A stereo amp has two channels. Presumably, left and right. A MONO amp (mono, one...get it?) is a SINGLE amp.

I've found that one GOOD stereo amp will work pretty well in most cases. Start there first. Then worry about biamping and so forth.

Everybody has their own opinion. Cost wise stereo. Adcom 555 400 plus shipping everyday on *bay. Outlaw has a mono block M2200 for $325 or Buy 4, get the 5th one free $1222. You will need a preamp to feed these. Cost is what it is. Outlaw M200 not easy to find for sale. I like mono blocks.

I run my 3 front speaker from the Denon pre amp out
    1. FRT LT pre amp out to 1 M200; speakers out to LFT speaker
    2. FRT RT pre amp out to 1 M200; speakers out to RFT speaker
    3. Center pre amp out to 1 M200; speakers out to Center speaker
The other speakers are using the Denon internal amp for 7.1 setup.
