nice, but you need a rack, surely that Denon needs fresh AIR.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Yeah. Let the Denon breathe, or it won't be providing power for long. Nice system though.

You've got some cool vintage pieces there (The Nak's). Deep 6 that equalizer though...Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

Kindof strange how you have your speakers almost perpendicular to each other. I think I remember trying that once when I was younger... I like your tape deck though. I miss my old '81 pioneer deck.

Is there a reason why your AV gear has to go next to the TV?
It makes sense to me to place the two front speakers the same distance away from the TV. I would swap your left front with the AV gear. -
yeah you should rid of the EQ, especially if its not being used. The more weight off of that AVR the better, at least until you get a decent rack. Best Buy had these

Simple but yet they should work for you. It's an ever growing hobby and allot of knowledge to be gained, you're on the right path though. Again keep up the good work.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Very nice, but agree with everyone else. Next purchase is a rack.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

If you are handy you could build your own rack. Use the search function for DIY racks - or Google it. Nice stuff btw!Audio: Polk S15 * Polk S35 * Polk S10 * SVS SB-1000 Pro

Lots of great gear in a small place; but that Denon needs AIR! We're in the "get a rack next" camp. Great stuff though, Thanks!Home Theater

You could purchase 4 hocky pucks (total cost about $4) and put them under the legs of your sony. That would give your Denon a little more airflow and help things out quite a but until you got a rack.

I like to cut tennis balls in half and use them as vibration dampening feet and spacers for disc players. Would probably work better then hockey pucks.

Tennis balls, Hockey Pucks, Pick your poison! Either way it sounds like more air for that Denon!!Home Theater

A great idea if you only have one or two components to stack though.

Also i was thinking about running my speakers throught the crossover on my velodyne sub. they will be crossed over at 80 hz then. which should let my speakers reproduce the highs and mids better and just let the sub reproduce the lows. would this be benificial to my sound? And since the sub woofer is a 400 watt sub would this mean more power for my speakers?John Tyler Birch

Why do that when you can use the crossover in your AVR and get good results. Try that route firstShoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

I bought this avr because it is a great avr. but right now i only have a 2 channel system. I have not yet bought my center or surrounds. Those are coming down the road. I wanted the capability to have 2 channel with sub for music, and 7.1 surround for movies down the road. thatis why i bought a reciever, basically i want two systems in one. So there it is the method behind my madness.John Tyler Birch
