edited March 2007 in Speakers
When I came back from Singapore, after listening to really high end rigs, I have been looking for a different full range speaker; you've seen my 3.1TL: for sale.
One of the speakers I heard was the Thiel CS 2.4; I was blown away by the imaging and mid range clarity of that little speaker. I was decided to get a second hand CS 3.6, and even started bidding for a pair on ebay :( that was supposed to be "in the box", but had to pull out because the seller started giving vague answers to buyers questions.

Anyway, continued my search and came upon a pair of used speakers that I normally would not even think of buying, but they have been in my dreams, the price was good, and the seller accepted my offer. Could not resist.

Have never heard them, but I am pretty sure they will be exactly what I am looking for.

Will pick them up sometime next week....in Kentucky :D:D:D:D

Tyler Acoustics Linbrook Sig system in ribbon mahogany!!!!!

Edit: whatever happens, I will NOT say this is my last pair of speakers ;)

    HOLY TOLEDO!!!
    I mean "MASON"!!!!

I take it the seller was Tyler Acoustics in Owensboro? Or is the Kentucky connection just a coincidence? Man... I bet you're stoked. I'm stoked for ya.
That is a stellar speaker. You are officially in the high-end of the deep-end of the top-end.

    Congrats!!!
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Very Nice as a matter of fact down right beautiful. . . I've always been a fool for tower speakers. Please give us a detailed review.

I think I just wet myself. If they sound half as good as they look they are keepers, even if they are not the last.

I am assuming it was from this sale.

Congrats Ricardo - you are certainly moving fast from the last speaker I heard you say you would be keeping for a long time. (the SRS's)

Can't wait to hear your opinions on it.

Yes; I talked with Ty; really nice guy; he spent more time with me on the phone than what he needed...I understand now what people say about him, very customer oriented, and will go the extra mile to make them happy.

So, I expect you'll buy me lunch one of these days ;)

That's 260 for the pair; that's nothing when you are used to move the 1.2TL's at 180 each :)

You forget... I'm just a weak lil' zombie. The Totems were 17 lbs apiece -- veritable toothpicks:D The Preludes aren't much heavier...

In fact, your speakers scare my speakers. You need to make sure they stay in your yard and off my property.

    Okay...
Is it just me, or does it seem like as soon as I start to feel really good about my LSis, people all over this board are ditching their Polks and investing in speakers WAY out of my league?
Congrats on a fantastic purchase. You're the envy of many of us now.

These are way out of my league also; If I think of it, this is the craziest thing I've done. I need to come up with some creative idea to raise some money, or spend nothing for six months....anyone wants to have a couple of teenagers for a few months???? They'll work for food

Well, that is not the plan, though right now whatever plan I had might drastically change. I have the Belles 350a being upgraded to Reference by Dave Belles; I was planning to use that fo the full range speakers, and the TAD-60 in SET mode with the VR-1's.

Although I am looking for ways to avoid it, I will probably need to sell the VR1's, and either the Belles or the TAD-60......we'll see.

They are dreamy. They gotta be the best speakers on the planet (for the money).

These Tylers and maybe the Salks are the only speakers I would use to replace my current speakers.

When speaking with Tyler, did you discuss a comparison with the 3.6's?

    Thanks.
