Is there a website that outlines the different characteristics of the common tubes used in pre-amps and amplifiers?

For a Tube Newb it is a bit over whelming.

I don't know if I am ready to start rolling, but I am curious.

Yeah, I enjoy it too...even though it's just one guys opinion. It's well written, unbiased and pretty comprehensive.
