SONY DVP-NS999ES DVD/CDP(SACD) - 9/10 - *SOLD* to Halo
This is another excellent player and priced a little lower than the Marantz I also have for sale. If you're going to own Sony, stick with the ES level of gear. The build quality is better and the components used internally are of higher quality. This WAS Sony's TOTL player a couple years ago.
If you wanted to get into SACD and Multi-Channel SACD for an easy on the wallet price, this would be it...and not a bad start at all for a smoking rig.
Obviously this unit is a little more flexible than the Marantz considering its a DVD player as well. I'd say the Marantz is a little less analytical than the Sony but nonetheless both are outstanding for a use as a reference source. I don't really want my source to color the sound anyways, reproduce it and let me handle it from there. Just my opinion.
NOTE: This unit is still under warranty until March 2008 and will include the original receipt.
Includes: Original box, packaging, user manual, receipt, power cord and remote.
Specifications:
Media Type: DVD, CD, Video CD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, SACD
Audio Decoders: Dolby Digital and DTS
Surround Effects: Virtual surround sound
Features: 3:2 pulldown, MP3 compatible, Progressive scan
Audio D/A Converter: 24-bit/192KHz
Video D/A Converter: 14-bit/108MHz
Inputs/Outputs:
One 6 channel RCA analog output
Two stereo RCA analog outputs
One Toslink and one coaxial digital output
One component video output
