Bare with me on this, A While back i shipped my speakers and one of them came in with the front separated from the body the wires had unpluged from the speaker and the diode light had broken. I wired the diode lite directly to get a completed contact and the speaker worked fine. Well the front separated again this time I only get base aound out of the bottom and that is kind of scrathy.

I am not sure where to look to fix this. and even if this makes sense so If anyone knows where to start to find the problem I would appreciate the info.

    Hello Dave,
Thanks for posting on the Forum. When you say the front came off of your speaker, do you mean the front baffle? The front part of the speaker that holds the tweeter and driver onto the front of the enclosure? Or, are you referring to the bezel, the plastic piece that is attached to the wooden enclosure and is the curved piece the tweeter fits into?
    Regards, Ken

Hi Ken, I figured that I had not explained it well. what I am talking about
is the front board that holds the speakers to the box. the speakers are
attached to this board. does this make sense.

    Hello Dave,
Wow, that speaker must have received a serious whack to knock the front baffle loose. The speaker's cabinet is assembled as what is known as a "wrap". The four sections of the cabinet, left, right, top and bottom, are all cut at once, with a channel running around the front and back edges for the front and back baffle to fit into. Then the front and back baffles are placed in the channel and the four pieces are glued into place, wrapping around the front and back baffle. The combination of the glue and the four-sided channel keep everything in place. It is hard to get the front baffle back into the channel since the front and back were in their channels before the sides and top were folded around them.
Contact me at kswauger@polkaudio.com or 1-800-377-7655 to see if we can replace the cabinet, or perhaps replace the complete speaker.
    Regards, Ken
