I bought the latest "The Shins" album on vinyl the other day and found this in the sleeve.

Now that's the way to do it!!! I hope other labels pickup on this.

They were even respectable 192kbps files.

That is really cool. I have an Iron & Wine vinyl (another Sub Pop band) but haven't opened it due to not having a TT here. I wonder if the same thing is in it. I just might have to check now...

EDIT: Nope, no such slip in the Iron and Wine Such Great Heights vinyl

Must be Dependant on the artist. I truly hope more start doing this. If everyone switched to this method, my days of buying CDs would be over.

Funny thing is people who buy LP's don't tend to think mp3's are worthy. I would never DL'd mp3's of my favorite group........goes against what I consider hi-fidelity. Mp3's are good for portables and the car environment, that's it? Now as a sampler of some sort to get an idea of the artist I could see. But seeing as you already bought one of their products you are probably not in their target market.

That's exactly why I like this idea so much. I prefer vinyl for at home listening, but when I'm on the go I have to have everything on my iPod. You just can't beat them for traveling in the car. It's great to be able to take your ENTIRE music collection with you.

I see your point now. The convenience factor is what it's all about. :)

I pre-ordered the new one from the Ataris, Got the CD, a t-shirt and access to the MP3's a couple weeks before the release for $14 + shipping, not a bad deal in all...
MacLeod: I guess youre lucky Polk has such lax hiring standards.

    Josh: Damn skippy!

    Wow, that is pretty sweet.

What are some sites/places where you can buy new vinyl? I've only ever come across used LP's.

Now order Chutes Too Narrow on LP, it's better, IMO (though this one is still really good! :) )
