Lead Shot for Speaker Stands

Gander Mtn had a decent selection, but the only stuff I could find for $20/bag was copper. I would venture to guess lead is preferred for its density.
Dorok and Joe, where did you purchase your lead shot? -
A militant buddy of mine gets it for me, and I have no idea where it's from.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I got mine at a local gunshop, I believe it's Miller's Guns here in Delaware. A lot of gun shops stopped carrying it because they said that too many people were using it to fill their boat ballasts and they couldn't keep up with the demand, also I was told the stuff is so heavy that the shipping costs have become prohibative.
I don't know, if I was running a business and the demand for an item was so high that I couldn't keep up, I would want to carry that item for as long as possible. When demand exceeds supply you get to make a nice profit.
I think you are better off buying from a local shop because if you buy it online, the shipping costs are going to kill your online discount. -
For those of you worried about toxic lead in your rigs, try bismuth shot instead. Not as heavy as lead but it does have alot of the same characteristics of lead shot. How does it work in an audiophile rig? Beats me!
