So I eventually sent in the plate and Ken at Polk worked to get me fixed/replaced. It worked great after I replaced the drivers that it apparently took with it when it went.

But now I am without the lowers in my 2000i's again. Almost a year ago now, one (can't remember for the life of me if it's the same one as before) blew again and seems to have taken the channel from my external amp with it this time.

As much as I love the sound and value you get from Polk, I'm more than a bit leery about getting the powered half of the 2000i's going again. For now I've just been running the unpowered through my remaining 2-channel amp and I jumped up the gain on my PSW650 to compensate for the missing lower end. I'm done with powered speakers (especially mains) for sure anyways. My other Polk speakers are still going strong though!

    Thanks for the replies anyways!
