I paid $70 for mine after a $10 rebate. It's an off brand (Argus), but is has all the typical features, including a 2X digital zoom, video display, PC download, and a variety of resolution, flash, timer, and image quality settings. I added a 32MB flashcard for $25, and for under $100, I have a nice little rig.

I bought it at Office Max. It's an Argus DC3200. I think it was usually around $115, but it was $79.99 on sale and I got a $10 rebate too.

If you look hard, there are a few 1.3 MP digital cameras to be had at the sub-$100 price point - so get your cheap on!

The resolution is 1.3 MegaPixel, which is way more than enough for taking the occasional snapshot and posting pics on the internet, etc.

In fact, I use the 640x480 dimension setting for all my internet pics, because the detail is plenty good, and the file size typically doesn't exceed 200 KB, so the download speed is reasonable for those using dial-up modems.

I like it way better than conventional cameras. If I want to have anything printed on regular film, I just burn the image file (JPEG or GIF) to a CD and bring it to any film processing center and they can put it on film and you can't tell the difference from a regular camera. And with the 32 MB flashcard, I can store around 140-160 pictures on the 640x480 setting before I have to download them, so it's great for vacations, etc.

jvc is one of the best digi cams...sony sucks unless u wana law down 1500 dollars...and then a 700 dollar jvc still kicks it butt...if u want to then enhance the digital photos more...download psp off kazaa and enhance them...then you'll realize how good a digital camera...but i think jvc camera's are the best...easy to use too

The nikon coolpix 950 is great for $300 to $600. Takes about a minute per pic to upload to a computer though. My friend has one of the $600 sony ones that only takes a few seconds per pic. quality on both is awesome. As your looking, keep in mind that resolution and quality are two different things. The best way to figure out what you want is to search around the net looking for pics taken by different ones and look at them.

I have the Canon Powershot G2 which ranks as one of the best digicams out there (other than the several thousand $$$ digi SLR cams).

I paid $740.00 for mine, but it can be had for about $100.00 less now. I bought mine back late last year.

It's a 4 megapixel camera with tons of features and a cool **** swivel LCD color screen. The 32mb memory card that comes with it is not close to enough. I added a 340mb IBM microdrive which allows 175 pics at 2200 x 1800 resolution.

    It's a badass camera!
    No excuses!

i've used a 600 dollar sony and a 600 dollar jvc...the sony couldnt take pics inside because it was so freakin dark...the flash flashed too soon...the jvc took way way more high quality picks...but on all digital camera's there is room for enhancing...
