So you are running 2 speakers per channel? If yes, why? I'd think that would ruin your sound.

Alright let me see if I can explaine this, first off while I had the money I wanted the best that i could afford and I love klipsch I heard a set of La Scallas some 28 years ago and the love affair started. I was never able to afford any klipsch until now "still couldn't do new la scallas" and being a rookie when I got the first pair of rf-7's they were so beautiful and sounded so sweet I was like a kid I had to have more. and I didn't know, I figured hey if one set sounded this good another set would sound twice as good right? O.K. maybe wrong lol!! but even with them side by side it still sound's awesome to me. I like my music with clairity and the bass to be tight and have a lot of punch but I also like it LOUD! I will be buying a house soon so I knew I had some room comming that was also in the back of my mind. in the month I'v had this system I have had my Tower of Power "monster on a leash" in there lisitening to it at least 40 times. before it's over I would like to have some khorn's or la scallas with some mcintosh tube gear and a serious turntable but I can see where you could drop 20 to 40 grand in this stuff quick and in a hurry!!! anyway please keep this in mind and be gental with the new kid!! and Thank you all for all your help!! will have more stupid questions soon!:D

Just out of curiosity had a friend come over with a meter, it put out 120 db standing in the kitchen about 20 to 25 feet away!

Yes two channel all in the front, klipsch RF-7's with10 inch mid's and subs in the towers and an rsw-10 powered sub/ adcom 555 tuner 555pre and two adcom 555 amps one of the amps has about 750.00 worth of musical concept mods and it run's the mid's and highs, the stock555 amp run's the low side.

Now I find that interesting. You are using to MC modded Adcom amp to run the mids and highs. I was planning on using my MC modded Adcom 565 mono blocks to power the lows and a Parasound HCA-1000A for the highs.

Either way you have a very nice rig and those speakers, WOW!

+1 with Bob, move the rack to a side wall, leave the amp in between the speaks, if the run is to long for the connect, move the amp too, over 20 ft or so is too long a run for RCA. Two speakers on one side for 2 ch??..........Kabuki, I find a nominal 80 db at my listening chair quite enjoyable.

-1 with Bob, Everyone knows I am hardcore 2-ch., but I still have an HT, its a family thing. The two need not be mutually exclusive.., one for music one for movies. And HT has brought many enthusiast's back to stereo music, take our wingnut as a good example. Jesse only counts to two, he is, well Jesse......

Wow, forget Coast, I bet that's a real eye (ear) opener.

That can't sound good, but to each his own. Let me re-phrase, that could sound BETTER, loosing a pair of speakers. Your imaging has to be smeared at best. It will look rediculous, but if you feel you NEED two pairs, flip one upside down on top of the other, and stack them. Make sure to keep pets and kids away, and brace them up real good.

    Cheers,
    Russ

I never measured the output of my 2 channel rig. I really don't care how many db it puts out. To me, music is more about quality than volume. I agree with others that the setup you have is not optimal. The imagaing can't be good. I have played around with two fronts in the past with poor results. I heard a great setup with stacked Advents back in the day. They are stacked as Russ described. Here is an article to read about them.

A few have mention stacking, but what about moving a pair to the rear and adding another amp for quad?

Quad is for the most part a dead format. If you were doing it for hometheater, great, but otherwise Russman is right: With the sound sources for two channel being spread similar to the way your speakers are, you're going to have some serious issues getting a decent sound stage. By stacking them and flipping the top one, you'll probably improve the imaging tremendously since the drivers will be vertically aligned, not horizontally which, with the exception of SDA's, kill soundstages.
Lovin that music year after year.
