The Pioneer only outputs progressive scan thru the component outputs. You can run in interlaced mode via composite or just use S-Video.

If you don't have an HDTV now, I'm not quite sure I understand the frustration?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

On my old player, there was a huge difference from composite/s-vid to Component cables: Color wise. I didn't want to take that step backwards to S-vid again... since I already upgraded to component cables. Does that make sense? Or will I not see a huge difference until I get a HDTV on this player?

I'm not unhappy! Just frustrated with my lack of good electronics!!! I won't be getting a new TV for at least another year... so I guess I'll just have to suffice with S-Vid.

Anyways, great job packing and shipping the player. Looked like new! +1 sent to shack. Thanks again man!

Is your experience composite vs component? or svideo vs component? Just wondering for FYI.

I've tested both ways out. Obviously, svid is a better method on my TV than composite.
