I've got this pioneer PL-540 turntable, haven't used it for while. I got it out yesterday and when I turned it on the drive was going around to the left and right back and forth, also the table seamed like it was sitting too low, in fact it was not turning at all........any idea's

I've fixed some very simple things on my table, but if the platter isnt moving and sitting too low, sounds like a whole part is missing. have you pulled off the platter to see what is amiss?

    is it belt drive?, direct?

either way, if it is not a simple fix, might be a write off
