6DJ8 Tubes

I am looking for suggestions on which tubes I should pick up for my Carver C-19. I was looking at the Ei Golds, but they are out of stock at the moment. Are there any other tubes in that price range that are worth looking at? I am trying to stay under $80 for the 4.

jj/tesla are nice and better but more money are the nos teslas.

groove tubes,jan/phillips,jj,russian varients,and if you shop around,you should be able to obtain some bugle boys (used) for 80.00,I'll look around and see what I have that I might let go of,if you like.

that would be great if you could. Money is really tight until the 15th, but after that I will have enough to pull something together.

At your price limit, I'd go with the Groove Tubes. I've had nice results with them in my ELP. Now when you have a little more $$$ to spend, get you some NOS Amperex.

Also, unless your Carver has gold tube sockets, there's no need for paying extra for gold pins.:)

Forget all current production 6DJ8, if you want a best buy, pick up some Phillips JAN 6922's for not much more than the price of the modern tubes.

Esoteric tastes, Amperex is good choice. Find a shop with an old O-scope, and pull a dozen (or more) out of it.
