The requirements to qualify for this karma are:

Be a member for at least 6 months and have 100 + posts.
Have a need for a turntable.
Have at least 3 records (must list name and pictures).
Must have a preamp or receiver with a turntable input.
The winner MUST post a detailed comparison between analog recordings and digital recordings after having the turntable for a week.

I will announce the winner of this karma in 10 days.
Good Luck to all contestants.

And I think I'll stop there. I'm getting tired of copying and pasting the links. You wanna see my 'collection' as it currently stands, you can see it here. Then, of course, Dad has quite a few records (~40).

My Parasound P/HP-850 has a phono input.

About the review...I'd attempt a comparison...but with school the way it is, I'm not 100% sure I'd be able to do it within a week.

Thanks! This is an AWESOME karma!!

The karma requirements in this one are hilarious - especially the comparison between analog and digital recordings.

Looking forward to reading audiobliss', oh - I mean the still to be announced winner's thoughts on digital vs. analog!

I need to throw on some vinyl this weekend - our turntable's hooked up in the basement.

Maybe to you since you probably have experience with both. This karma was meant for someone who has not experience analog recordings.
In this day and age of ipod and mp3s, there are alot of people out there who have not heard a record.

Okay Michael we need a full report of your listening experience as well as the tweaks you plan to use to improve your turntables sound quality afterwhich we will need a report on the tweaks and how much you spend on each one. . .that was also one of Ed's prerequisites but he wanted to wait until you won.

Woooooohooooooo! I'm extremely excited! In fact, I'm elated! I'm ecstatic! I'm emphatically, exceedingly, extraordinarily, electrifyingly, exuberant!

What a great karma! And then........I won! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Thank you so much ESAVINON! PM is on its way!

Thanks for the congrats, folks! I'll be sure and relate my findings on the difference between analog and digital as soon as I can formulate an opinion. I'll have to see if we have the same song in both mediums so as to make the comparison easier. However, as for tweaks, improvements, and upgrades, I can't foresee any besides maybe some new sleeves for my records after I get them clean.

    Thanks again! This is awesome!!!!
