I moved recently and the road I live on has a fair amount of truck traffic and a traffic light right outside the house. Under these new conditions my Polk subwoofer has decided that it is now a tuner and picks up CB chatter, pretty distracting during a movie to hear extra voices coming from my sub. Is this normal or does this indicate a problem (other than me hearing voices) ? More importantly, is there a simple fix for this nuisance? Thanks guys.

Ah yes. Speakers becoming antennas and reproducing what they receive. I've dealt with this problem some as a licensed Ham radio operator. This can be a common problem with higher powered Ham radios. CBs are legally supposed to transmit at 4 watts with a maximum 12 watts output on higher bands. You are most likely picking up Ham radios or modified CBs with output levels higher then normal. If that's true you should get on the phone and call up the FCC about violations of FCC Laws Part 95. ;) One of the best way to try to get rid of that RF (radio-frequency) interference is to buy a few Ferrite RFI Suppressors and clip them on or wrap the cable through them. These have been used by Hams for a while and work pretty well on everything from telephones to TVs. I have included two links if you want more information, and I hope that this helps.
