XRt12 not holding activation

Has anyone here had a problem with an XRt12 receiver not holding the XM activation information? I have had my receiver for over a year now (got it for a holiday gift in 2005), and it worked without a problem when I first set it up and activated it. About 3 months later, I deactivated it with XM (I was getting XM channels for the house from DirecTV at the time). I changed from DirecTV to Warner Cable this past November (didn't like the DirecTV idea of drilling holes in my roof to mount the antenna needed for local HD programming); so I contacted XM and had the XRt12 reactivated. The receiver continues to work well, but it only holds the 'activation' code for about 3-4 days, then it deactivates (back to only Channels 0 & 1 being available). I have to go to the XM web site and reactivate it over and over. It has gotten pretty annoying. I spoke with Tech Support at XM, and they said it isn't a problem on their end. They are blaming it on the receiver.
If anyone else has had this problem, and knows a solution, I would greatly appreciate hearing about it.
Thanks!

Hello,
Do you keep your tuner on 24/7?

Yes. It is part of a 'whole house' audio system (6-source, 6-zone), so it does stay on all of the time. I didn't think that would be part of the problem though, as this was not an issue for the first 2-3 months after I initially installed and activated the unit (holiday season of '05).

Hello,
The original XM central processor was developed for use in cars. It uses the periods when turned on/off to reacquire the activation signal. Since this same controller is used in all XM devices it is necessary to turn on/off your tuner periodically. We have developed a way around this in our most recent versions of the tuner. You are certainly able to send the tuner to Polk Audio, 2550 Britannia Blvd., Suite A, San Diego, CA. 92154. Include a short note giving us your name, address and mention that you are sending it in for exchange.
Or, you can just turn your unit off, then back on and it will have the activation again.

Ken,
Do I need to call and get an RMA number for an exchange? The option of turning it off and on isn't really any better than logging into XM and having the resync signal sent.
Thanks,
