Newbie Question: What Receiver To Use

I am new to this forum. I have recently bought the Polk RTi10's, FXi5's, CSi5's, PSW505. I dont have a clue on what receiver to use. And I dont know anything about amping speakers. What would I need to make the speakers run to its full potential. Do you think I can get something for under 600 for that or would I have to spend more. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum; nice set of speakers you have there.
You can power them with a "high" watt receiver, but the RTi10's will require an external amp if you want to hear their full potential (not a must, but will improve their sound).
You have several options with that budget, in the used market. You can buy a used Denon that has over 100WPC (I have a 3803 and sounds great with my setup), or buy a lower power receiver with pre-outs and a stereo amp for your RTi10's. This is probably what I would do._________________________________________________

what lower power receiver would you use and what amp for the rti10's? Thanks -
http://stores.ebay.com/Harman-Audio
They have quite an assortment of refurbished items direct from Harman. I purchased mine from there, and so have others here. The one thing I like about the HK's is the pre outs so if you get the bug to upgrade to external amps you have that capability.
BenPlease. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

HK link above is a god option for receivers; for amp, I'd get a 200 WPC Adcom or similar; look in Audiogon or in the flea market here, or ebay._________________________________________________

would the HK AVR 445 run the setup well? I am still looking at an amp to upgrade later on for the the RTi10's but will that do for the meantime to run the system?

The 445 has 65 watts, which for HK it's good watts; you'll be able to drive your RTi set just fine. You won't be getting all the 10's can give, but it will sound good. If you can get a stereo amp down the road, you'll be set._________________________________________________

starting another thread with the same question.. doesn't help you make any friends..
what is your budget for a recevier? If you don't mind buying used ones.. you can get a better deal. What will your recevier be used for? 20% music and 80% movies? Give us some info before we can recommend more receviers. There are hundreds of receviers out there..PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I didnt make another thread for the same question. I stated that I want to spend 600. I already decided on the DENON AVR2307 or the HK445. Thanks for helping out though.
