One my original sl2000 tweeters went out the other day in my monitor 10b's. I ordered the replacement version from clubpolk and after installing it, I was disappointed to discover that the sound is not the same as the other 2000. The highs are there, but not as real and open as the 2000. Has anyone else experienced this?

Other people have said similar things with this replacement. I'd suggest getting another for the other side, letting them burn-in, and check E-bay for originals.

BTW. I consider the original SL2000 to be one of the best tweeters ever, bar none.

I like the new one better - serious.
    The old one:
    a) looked ugly - clear plastic dome that discolored easily.
    b) seemed to have some pretty serious reliability problems.
    c) sounds ok... but, the new one sounds crisper.

I like the replacement SL2000 much better than the SL2500.
I think its pretty much a toss-up between the SL2000 replacement
and the SL3000. Honestly, I think I prefer the sound of the SL2000 replacement though - it sounds "warmer".

Well I had the SL2500 and loved them in the model 10 series 2, but now I have the RTA11t and the SL2000 kind of takes away that wonderfull midrange and upper frequency I fell in love with. The 2000 seems a little on the harsh side. I will be ordering the replacement Friday, which from everyones comments should be a nice improvement.
